OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID
This
comprehensive three day First Aid course covers all the essential
aspects of Occupational First Aid. It is designed to provide the
participants with the necessary skills to provide first aid in the
workplace and deal with all injury emergencies at work. Our instructors
are registered with the National Ambulance Training School and our
course is run to H.S.A Guidelines.

» Poisoning
DAY 2
» Burns and Scalds
» Corrosive injuries
» Chemical splashes
» Blood and the circulation
» Wounds and bleeding
» Control of bleeding
» Dressings and bandages - application, including improvisation
» Fractures - causes, types, signs and symptoms
» Sprains, strains and dislocation
» Crush injuries
» General rules for treatment
» Handling and transport including improvisation
DAY 3
» Dressing and bandaging fractures
» Epilepsy, Asthma and Diabetes - definition, causes, treatment
» Emergency First Aid Kits - contents
» Revision - practical;
any requested subject revised; questions; resuscitation
» Examination - a practical incident to treat
» Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
» Question paper
» Bandages, slings and
transport are introduced as appropriate and practised
throughout the course
» Exam
Please
note as per new HSA guidelines the Occupational First Aid course
curriculum will change from 1st June 2008. These changes are as
follows:-

The maximum number of participants will be 8 people per First Aid
course – full and Refresher
» On
successful completion of the course the Certificate is valid for two
years
» AED Training is compulsory as part of this First Aid Course |

Method of Training
Classroom
presentation on multimedia, supplemented by videos and discussions
throughout the course. Course handouts, training records, evaluation
forms are also provided. The course is highly interactive with each
theory sessions being followed by demonstrations, practical tasks and
assessment of individual skills.
